Welcome to another Supporting Independent Businesses post! Today I am going to introduce you to Sixth Scents Beauty run by the wonderful Ann and Heather. Sixth Scents Beauty sell Dermalogica products of which I am a huge fan. Heather is a therapist and has been loyal to the brand since the 90s and uses the products in her salon. Dermalogica are not only high quality products, they also have some pretty amazing standards that they strictly abide by –
- Use of the highest quality professional strength active ingredients
- Biodegradable packaging
- No animal testing
- Contamination free packaging
- The exclusion of lanolins, parabens, mineral oils, colours and fragrances
- Free training is also available to therapists, so they always have up-to-date product knowledge
Ann and Heather offer fantastic customer service. They are always available for help and advice in choosing products. They also scan the market regularly, making sure their prices are competitive and that the customer is always getting a good deal. They also offer free delivery!
As I said in my previous Supporting Independent Businesses post, Christmas is on its way and now is a good time to be supporting small and independent businesses by buying your presents from them. I was lucky enough to try out some Dermalogica samples myself and here are a few of my favourites!
DERMALOGICA HYDRABLUR PRIMER (22ML) – £34.15This is the best primer I’ve ever used. It made my skin so silky smooth that I actually didn’t feel like I needed any foundation over the top of it! It is very lightweight and can be applied with a beauty blender or foundation brush. It leaves skin non-greasy and minimises pores, lines and wrinkles – a perfect base!
This is a very intense and effective lip renewal balm. I used this each night before bed and my lips felt wonderful in the morning. I even still had the product on my lips when I woke up, which I don’t normally get with usual lip balms. This is an anti-ageing lip complex, which helps minimise contour lines. This is a must have during the cold months.
As you may have read in my Skincare Routine post a couple of months back, I take cleansing my skin and removing make-up very seriously! This little beauty can dissolve oil-based make-up and any dirt before cleansing. It has a light-weight oil texture using olive oil and rice bran. Team this with the Dermalogica Cleanser and you’re away!
I used this product each night after the Precleanse. Together they removed my make-up beautifully. Even my very stubborn waterproof mascara and matte lipsticks! This product activates with water into a foam. It contains lavender and balm mint which helps remove impurities and excess oils.
This is a medium weight moisturiser which uses antioxidants and Vitamins A, C and E to smooth lines and promote elasticity. It’s a very good cream, which made my skin feel wonderfully soft in he evening and before applying primer during the day.
Well there we have it! I think you can see why I love this business so much! I really believe in Dermalogica products, and I think Ann and Heather are the perfect people to purchase them from. They really care about the brand and doing the right thing by the customer.
