Juvia’s Place | The Nubian 2 | Beauty Bay UK

I’ve been lusting after Juvia’s Place palettes for months, since seeing Snapchat stories from Nikkie Tutorials swatching the bright, beautiful and highly pigmented eyeshadows. When Beauty Bay announced they would be ringing Juvia’s Place to their UK website, I felt so excited – I could finally get my hands on a palette and witness the magic for myself! I chose the Nubian 2

There are 12 very large eyeshadows in this palette and each one is stunning in its own right. The colours range from champagne, to coppers to golds and yellows to dark browns. There are four matte shades and eight shimmers. The colours all compliment each other so well, the looks you could create with this palette are endless. It’s just too exciting!

Swatching the shadows was easy as each one is very pigmented. You hardly need to touch the pan and you get a lot of colour pay-off. I particularly love ‘Morocco’, a gorgeous orange shade perfect for the crease and excellent for bringing out the colour of your eyes. I can’t say any of the colours are patchy or hard to work with, as this really isn’t the case.

I created a simple look today with the palette, mostly focusing on a orange/bronze theme. Sorry the outer corners look patchy in the photo below, hayfever and watery eyes mean that eyeshadows really aren’t staying put at the moment!

  •  On the outer corner and dragged through the crease – Morocco
  • Over the lid – Yaa
  • On the outer corner and to blend the crease togeter – Madagascar
  • Inner corner and brow bone highlight – Zuri
  • To brighten up the lid colour – Nefertiti
  • Lower lash line – Yaa

Overall, I’m absolutely chuffed with this palette. It has to be the best quality palette I own by a long shot. I just love every single shade too and I can’t stop planning looks with it! The eyeshadows themselves are so easy to work with and are creamy and very blendable. I also found that there was very little fallout when I was working with them, although there was a little bit from the shade ‘Yaa’. Something that I can live with!
