I Heart Makeup have recently launched a few new and very beautiful eyeshadow palettes. The Rose Gold one was a good Huda Beauty dupe and the Mint Chocolate one contained some unique and truly Autumnal shades. The Chocolate Elixir palette looks to me to be a VERY good dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette.
I don’t own Modern Renaissance myself, but do have the W7 Delicious (another close dupe) and was able to use this to compare the shades. I Heart Makeup have done an extremely good job of replicating the shades and once again provide you with an opportunity to save your precious pennies. Why spend £45 when you can buy a very similar palette for £8.99?
The palette packaging is sturdy and very cute. It has the instantly recognisable dripping chocolate on the lid in a matte gold. Inside is a large mirror and then the 16 shades. There is a mix of matte and shimmer shades, but it is predominantly matte.
I am stupidly excited about this palette – the colours are stunning and the mattes blend out beautifully. I was so impressed when I first swatched the colours as they were very creamy and just so perfectly complimentary to each other. I wanted to use every single one on my eyes at the same time!
I can see this palette becoming a real ‘go to’ palette for me. I love reds and pinks around my blue eyes – I’m like a moth to a flame with them. There is one shade in particular that I’m obsessed with though and that is the muted mauve on the top row – it is so pigmented for such a light colour and blends like a dream. I just love this palette!
