The build up to the release of these glitter palettes from I Heart Revolution, were just too much for me to handle. I felt like Revolution had actually been inside my head and created a product from all of my inner girly-girl dreams! The outer case of the One True Love palette is pink and actually has a bunch of glitter and confetti inside liquid which moves around inside it. I could literally sit for hours and watch it moving around. Baby J loved it too and kept trying to steal it when I wasn’t looking!
Inside the palette are nine eyeshadow shades – three mattes and six shimmers. They are a mixture of golds, pinks and burgundies and are very aesthetically pleasing.
However, and here’s the most disappointing bit, I really didn’t get on well with the formula of this palette. I had a nightmare swatching it and some shades hard panned immediately. I had to run my finger in the pan as usual, rub my skin hard to get the pigment I had picked up onto it and then go into the pan again to try and deepen up the swatches. It was hard work!
I really do love the look of the palette and the gorgeous colour selection, I’m just so disappointed with the pigment of every shade. There isn’t one in there that really blows me away and makes up for it. They were also very hard work to apply to the eyes and it took a long time for me to achieve a look that had a more dramatic effect. I think this palette would be good if you like subtle eyeshadow looks. I’m gutted to be honest because I’ve never had a bum I Heart Revolution product and I was so excited for the launch of these. I would like to swatch the other two palettes in store, before I go and purchase either one of them.
