This month’s The Vegan Kind Beauty Box is an absolute corker! Yes, I was slightly disappointed that this is the first box I have received without an item of makeup, but the more I look into and try out the products, the less I’m bothered about this! The products inside this month are just brilliant and so unique that I don’t already own anything like them. So, let’s dig in!
Zerreau Waterless Body Wash 70ml (RRP £3.99)
I received a product from Zerreau in last quarter’s box which was a dry shampoo foam. I wasn’t so keen on that, so was a bit dubious about this one. I tried it out after my run earlier this evening and my god, it’s genius! You put the foam on dry skin and lather it up, you then just wipe it away with a towel – no water required! This is perfect for post-gym sessions when you can’t get in the shower, or at a festival, or just anytime you need a super-speedy freshen up! It also has a beautiful fruity and tropical scent which stays on the skin. I’m a big fan!
Chirp Body Softnest 100% Natural Hair Mask (RRP £17.95)
I haven’t been able to give this a try yet, because I only received the box this morning, but who doesn’t love a hair mask? I recently had my hair coloured/bleached so it could do with some TLC. This mask is designed to soften and hydrate hair, whilst rejuvenating the senses at the same time. It should be applied to dry hair, left for around 30 mins and then wash your hair twice with shampoo to make sure all of the mask has been removed. I’m excited to try this!
Tisserand Happy Aromatherapy Roller Ball (RRP £5.95)We all need a little pick me up throughout the day, right? Well this aromatherapy roller ball is sunshine in a bottle. Just roll this onto temples, the nape of the neck, behind the ears and anywhere else you can sniff for a waft of joy. I absolutely love products like this and strongly believe in essential oils and aromas playing a part in our moods and emotions. I’ve put this straight in my handbag, ready for stressful situations and moments of dull moods. The essential oils inside are – bergamot, lemon tea tree and nutmeg. Trust me when I say, this smells incredible. I challenge you not to feel happier when using this for yourself!
Figs and Rouge Hydra-Activ 3 in 1 Hero Cream 80ml (RRP £18)
When I looked in the box and saw this beautiful tin, I did a little happy dance! I mean, let’s take a second to appreciate this packaging – I just love that design! I have a bit of a thing about products which come in tins too – just so retro and funky looking (does anyone say ‘funky’ anymore?!). I’m excited to try the cream itself too. It’s for both the face and body and promises to deliver hydration, radiance, the reduction of fine lines and smoothing properties. Fingers crossed it achieves all of these! Figs & Rouge are an absolutely gorgeous brand, so I’m expecting good things.
Eden Perfumes – Daisy Perfume 10ml (RRP £7)
OK, this is what really did it for me this month. I’m absolutely blown away by this company and what they do. They make vegan versions of all of your favourite perfumes and aftershaves, for a fraction of the price. The one I received in my box is their version of ‘Daisy’ by Marc Jacobs and it smells INCREDIBLE! I have an issue with perfumes in that I can never smell them on my skin after about ten minutes of applying them. This one stuck with me – I’m not just saying this to gain brownie points from the company, I’m not paid to write this, I just genuinely believe in this company and perfume. I’ve even got my husband ready to make an order with me come pay day! If you get the box for one thing, get it for this perfume. Check out Eden Perfumes for yourself here.
I was sent the SENSSé Hot and Cool Facial Bar in exchange for a review. When I received the product from Amazon, I was genuinely blown away with its beautiful packaging and the way the facial bar itself looks. The box is a good, solid matte white cardboard, with the Senssé logo on the front, in rose gold. Inside you receive the facial bar, a USB charger and 2 year warranty/instruction manual.
The facial bar itself is absolutely beautiful – with its subtly shimmery white design and accents of rose gold. The bar itself is extremely smooth. I couldn’t wait to try it on my skin! When using for the first time, the device needs to be charged for at least six hours on its lovely rose gold base.
There are four functions on the facial bar – heat, heat with vibrations, cool, cool with vibrations. The hot mode feels absolutely amazing! This mode increases blood circulation and relaxes facial muscles. The cool mode also feels lovely – especially on a hot day – and helps to reduce the appearance of pores and help skin absorb your facial moisturiser. The product lights up with a whit light, and the dots, which also illuminate, indicate which setting you are currently on. It also makes a clear beeping sound when you change functions.
To use the product – place moisturiser on the plate before switching on. It is preferable that you use a water soluble moisturiser. Turn the bar on and it will get warm very quickly. Move it over the skin on your face for around 30 seconds. Press the button next to switch to hot mode with vibrations. This will stimulate skin further and help you achieve that natural glow. After another 30 seconds, switch to cool mode. You’ll hear the internal fan kick in at this point – I can’t actually believe how quickly it gets cold! The final setting is cool with vibrations and this is a lovely final facial massage which will help relax you and minimise pores. This should be done 3-5 times a week and takes about 2 minutes in total.
Now for my thoughts!
As you can tell from my gushing above, I absolutely love how this item looks. You could say that it is very ‘Instagramable’ and I really enjoyed photographing it. I’m also currently trying to find a practical use for the box it came in too, because it will just look beautiful wherever I put it!
I love the way the hot mode feels on my skin, to me this is the best part. It really does help with the absorption of my moisturiser and I love this
The vibration mode really isn’t the best – it could be better. I don’t actually know what benefits it is having to my face and skin and it just isn’t really needed in my opinion
It charges very quickly and just looks even more beautiful on its throne of a charging base
The cool mode is very refreshing and as I said before, it gets cool very quickly and is wonderful if you’re feeling pretty warm. I use it on my face after a run as I turn into a good shade of tomato very quickly! This calms my skin right back down and means I can continue to put on my makeup without lovely sweat and red patches making an appearance

Here’s part 2 of my reviews of the Makeup Revolution Gradient Highlighters! Read Part 1 – Sunlight Mood Lights, here. This time it’s my particular fave, Rose Quartz Lights. To be perfectly honest, I have used this every single day since I received it. It is just my perfect blush. When I saw it on the website, I was concerned it would be too dark, but once all swirled together on my brush, it creates the most beautiful bronze peach glow.
As I mentioned in my previous post, this is called a highlighter but it really isn’t one. I always use it as a blush. Even the lightest colour on this would be too dark as a highlighter for me, but could maybe work on people with deeper skin tones. On the far right of the product, the colour gets pretty dark and would actually make a beautiful bronzer. However, I use this as a blush by dipping my brush along all the colours.
To swatch the product, I used three fingers and took product from the left, middle and right of the blush.
This blush always works perfectly with the rest of my makeup, as I love warm tones and browns/bronzes/peaches/orange tones on my eyes. It also has a very subtle shimmer to it – which I love from a blush as it makes you look extra glowy.
The Gradient Highlighters are currently on TAMbeauty for just £4 each, buy yours here.
This is my second purchase of the Makeup Revolution Renaissance Lipsticks. I already own ‘Vow’ and have been addicted to its colour and formula. I spoke about it recently here. The lipsticks come in the most beautiful rose gold packaging. They really remind me of the much coveted Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks and I often get the two confused when I see them in Instagram posts! A big bonus to these lipsticks is that they close very securely with a reassuring click – it means the lid won’t be falling off in your bag! I love how the Makeup Revolution logo is printed on the lipstick barrel and is revealed when you take the lid off.
This particular lipstick is in the shade ‘Greatest’ – a mauve/pink/nude colour which I felt was missing from my collection. I’m absolutely in love with the colour. I’ll actually be purchasing it for my mum too – it would suit her so much!
The formula of these lipsticks is incredible – creamy and long-lasting. It glides onto the lips and doesn’t cling to dry patches. It doesn’t smudge and stays put all day. It removes easily at the end of the day too. I’m honestly blown away by these lipsticks. And guess how much they are?! £4!! And yes, I’ll say it, I love these more than the MAC lipsticks, by miles.

As you know and as I keep telling you, highlighters are my favourite makeup products to collect and apply. So my favourite products, combined with my favourite beauty guru equals a massive win for me. When Shaaanxo announced the release of her two new highlighters, I just couldn’t wait to order myself one from xoBeauty in New Zealand.
I was most interested in this highlighter because it isn’t advertised as a ‘blinding’ one, but more as a ‘radiant glow’. Every highlighter I own to date is over the top shimmery and don’t get me wrong, I do love this, but more subtle highlights have appealed to me recently.
The packaging is absolutely stunning and matches the lipsticks (which I also wrote a review on, read it here) with the mirrored casing. You receive 10g of product inside the case, which closes securely, with what I think is a magnetic fastening. It’s a gorgeous little compact, with a mirror in the lid, perfect to carry around with you.
Now, another cool thing about this highlighter is that it isn’t just used in the ‘usual’ way. Due to its buildable texture, the highlighter can also be applied lightly all over the face for a blurring effect. If subtlety isn’t your thing, then you can wet your brush and apply it with that. So far, I have just been using it with a dry brush on my cheekbones and nose. To be honest, I haven’t gone a day since receiving it, where I haven’t worn it. I’ve received a lot of highlighters in the post over the last week or so, including a Jeffree Star one, but I keep coming back to this one.
Overall I’m impressed with the quality and versatility of this product. The powder itself is beautifully, finely milled and so easy to work with and not heavy on the skin. I love its buildable nature and also the colour which is a champagne pink. It really is ‘Photoshop in a compact’!
The ABH Modern Renaissance palette is one I can only dream about owning (or hope that someone close to me reads this post and surprises me with it!) so when I saw that the very affordable high-street brand W7 had released this little beauty, I was intrigued to give it a go.
The palette comes in simple cardboard packaging with a mirror inside and includes a brush. The brush is also a replica of the ABH one too, with a fluffy brush one end and a smudging brush the other. There are twelve eyeshadows inside – 4 shimmers and 8 mattes. Upon swatching, I found some to be much more pigmented than others. The palest shade is pretty much non-existent on my skin, so isn’t visible in the swatch photo. Some of the colours are also quite chalky. However, upon using the palette, I was impressed with how pigmented the darker colours were and how well they blended.
Here’s a simple tutorial for an every day look using the palette –
And here’s the finished look!
The shadows lasted very well throughout the day and are still going strong now. I used my MAC Paint Pot in Painterly as a base/primer and the shadows have stayed put without creasing.
Do I think this is a decent dupe for the ABH palette? If you’re on a tight budget like me and can’t justify spending so much on some eyeshadow – then yes, this is a brilliant substitute! When it’s on your eyes, who’s going to know the difference, hey?
I ordered this palette direct through the W7 website here and it cost £12.95.
Those of you who have been regularly reading my blog for a while now will know how much I love me a blinding highlighter and that a lot of them I have reviewed have been rainbow ones. This little beauty was released by Makeup Revolution last week and is an incredible £4! Before I say anything else, I have to put it out there that this is an incredibly high quality and pigmented highlighter, especially for the price.
Let’s start with the packaging – it comes in a compact, plastic case with a border of holo (don’t shoot me if this is not holo – trust me, I struggle to know the difference between all the special rainbow effects!).
There are five highlight colours inside this palette – you can wear each colour individually, swirl your brush and grab each colour or paint an actual rainbow on your cheekbones. When I was experimenting, I found that when you swirl your brush across all the colours, the overall effect is a predominantly blue colour.
As I mentioned previously, the colours in this palette are extremely pigmented and easy to work with. I couldn’t believe the shine achieved just from swatching the product very lightly onto the back of my hand.
Today, I used the pink colour on the tops of my cheekbones, nose and Cupid’s bow. It has such a pretty effect and went smoothly onto my skin. It didn’t gather or look chalky. It just left a gorgeous glow. I’m in love!
To buy your own, either visit TAM Beauty here or Superdrug online here. It is also available in Superdrug stores. I can honestly say it’s worth every penny.
One thing I will say is, I am unsure as to why they are sold as ‘highlighters’, they are definitely more appropriately used as blushers. You could possibly dip your brush into the very lightest shade on the far left and use that as a subtle highlighter, but these are predominantly a blush.
I swatched the product with three fingers and just took some product from each third of the palette, as shown in the photo above. I mixed all of the gradient together on my brush to create the blush I am wearing in the photo below.
Sunlight Mood Lights is definitely my favourite of the three palettes. I love a peachy toned Blush as I wear a lot of peachy browns on my eyes and they compliment each other perfectly.
The lighter shade in the product isn’t the most pigmented, but is easily buildable. The darker the colour gets, the more pigmented it becomes. To be honest, I like my blushers to be buildable as I like to avoid the clown look!

Physicians Formula has been doing the rounds a lot recently on social media and YouTube, especially this Butter Bronzer. Physicians Formula isn’t available in the UK, so I had to order this through iHerb – an amazing site which sells many makeup brands, including those not available here. I have heard only good things about this product – it blends well, looks glowy and smells amazing. I just couldn’t wait to give it a go for myself!
First up, let’s start with the packaging. The bronzer came in a foil effect box, with tropical foliage printed on it. The colours are stand out and fit so well with the theme of the product.
Inside you get 11g of bronzer, another compartment which lifts to reveal a mirror, and a cute applicator sponge. To be honest, I won’t use the applicator, as I prefer using a brush, but it’s definitely handy to have inside for travel.
As well as looking aesthetically pleasing, the bronzer also provides many benefits for the skin. It contains Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter from the Amazon in Brazil – which I believe gives it its beautiful scent (correct me if I’m wrong!). It also contains ultra-refined pearls and soft-focus pigments that are said to smooth your skin’s texture and brighten your skin tone.
I have been using the bronzer for the last couple of days now and I have to say that I already adore it. It leaves such a beautiful finish and really does make my skin look airbrushed. It blends very well and is so creamy to apply. It’s quickly becoming my favourite part of my makeup routine! The scent is absolutely beautiful – it just smells like ‘holiday’ to me – sun cream, coconuts and many things tropical.
I could bang on about this product all day and all the benefits it as for your skin. I’ll tell you just a few more facts anyway, as I really can’t help myself!
It also contains fatty acids and pro-vitamins to nourish your skin.
It can be worn over makeup or alone on the skin – imagine that glow!
It combines the benefits of both cream and powders bronzers, meaning application is effortless
It’s Cruelty Free
It’s simply amazing!
