Here’s my second review of an Exposed Cosmetics product and this one is a beauty! As you saw from my previous post, I am absolutely in love with the Exposed Cosmetics English Rose Eyeshadow palette, read that here. So I was expecting good things form this highlight kit too!
As with the eyeshadow palette, this kit comes in simple cardboard packaging which has a little window in it so you can see the shades inside. It’s a cute little size, making it great for on the go. On the back of the box is an image of a woman showing you where to apply highlighter to your face. Now let’s get to the swatches!
Eeek, aren’t they all just so beautiful? The colours are – Pale Champagne, Iridescent Rose and Glistening Bronze. The shades have a gorgeous sheen to them and are super shimmery – minus the glitter. They have that much coveted ‘wet look’ on the skin. My most wearable shade, for my skin tone, is definitely Pale Champagne but the amazing thing about this palette is that you can mix the shades together to create your own custom highlight. They’re just stunning! They would make beautiful eyeshadows too.
This Bold Definition Highlight Kit is just £4.99 and available to purchase here.
I came across Exposed Cosmetics on Instagram and instantly fell in love with their English Rose Eyeshadow Palette. I had seen a few mini video tutorials on their grid and was amazed at how well the shadows blended and how pigmented they were. I just had to give them a go for myself! I was able to pick this up super cheap too because it was Black Friday weekend – win!
There are 18 eyeshadows in this palette, which is incredible value for money considering it is only £9.99. There are eight shimmer, metallic and foil shades, each one absolutely stunning and very, very pigmented.
The mattes in this palette also pack a real punch. They are buttery and easy to blend. The colours compliment each other beautifully too, so many unique eye looks can be created from this one palette.
I really had lots of fun playing around with this palette. I absolutely love rose gold anyway, so eyeshadows around this theme really interest me. I’m obsessed with the pink shimmer shade with the peachy gold reflect and just had to use it all over the lid!
There are some mattes in the palette which make perfect transition shades and crease colours too. I’m really happy with this purchase and can’t believe the quality of the shadows considering the price – absolutely fantastic. The packaging is lightweight and simple, which is a good thing. This palette is simple to look at, but the eyeshadows do brilliant job. There was less time spent on packaging and more time spent on quality of the product – something which really appeals to me.

Welcome to your first Christmas Gift Guide on Sparkle with Kerry! I’m pretty excited for this and even more excited that I get to start with some awesome gifts from Mad Beauty. Mad Beauty are known for their unique, pretty and beautifully scented beauty items as well as their cute stationery and accessories. I was first drawn to them because I kept seeing their Disney and Beauty and the Beast products all over my Instagram. I was excited to see that they also make other beautiful gifts on more pretty themes.
At this time of year, I can’t think of anything more inviting than a relaxing and most importantly, warm bath. I love a good bath bomb and a pack of three of them from Mad Beauty wouldn’t be an unwanted gift for me. They look cute, they smell great and they help you chill out after the Christmas shopping rush – what’s not to like! Buy yours here.
There are three Hand Care Sets available in this range and all three have deliscious scents – Sweet Marshmallow, Christmas Cranberry and Spiced Apple. All scents are festively comforting and delightfully sweet. I have the marshmallow one and I absolutely love the smell. It is a decent hand cream too, it has been helping to make my hands very soft. The set also comes with a cute nail file. Buy yours here.
I am forever sanitising my hands – I have a one year old and I am also a primary school teacher – hygiene is super important to me! This one of three designs is another gorgeous smelling but practical gift from Mad Beauty. I love the fact that this one is a spray and I like the sleek packaging – a good size for travel and hand bags. Buy yours here.
Another accessory to the perfect bath, this bath fizzer also smells of beautiful marshmallows. I love the simple, but pretty packaging of this and it makes the perfect stocking filler. These bath fizzers are also available in three other scents – Christmas Cranberry, Spiced Apple and Sweet Marshmallow. Buy yours here.

The Maybelline collaboration with Gigi Hadid was highly anticipated in the drugstore beauty world but unfortunately received mixed reviews. After watching many YouTube reviews and reading others, I decided to just try out the lipsticks. I chose a nude and a classic red – Taura and Austyn.
Taura is a classic nude lipstick, I would describe it as a ‘my lips but better shade’. Probably a bit more subtle than I wanted, but is nice for ‘no makeup’ looks and easy days. The formula itself is very nourishing and doesn’t dry out my lips at all. It’s described as a matte, but I’d say it’s a semi-matte.
Although this lipstick is nourishing and quite pretty, for £8.99 it is a bit of a disappointment. It is not very long wearing at all and comes off as soon as you drink/eat/kiss. I’m so sad about this!
Now, Austyn on the other hand is a lovely little lipstick. It is a bright, bold red with great pigment and much better staying power than Taura. It too is nourishing which I need in these cold months.
The red is super bright. I love the undertones of orange which make it a true festive red.
Both these lipsticks are available as lip kits and also with matching lip liner pencils. You can purchase them in Boots and Superdrug for £8.99.
W7 I applaud you – well done on creating yet another affordable, high quality and practically identical dupe of an Anastasia Beverly Hills palette. The funny thing is, W7 have made no attempt to hide the fact that they have recreated the high priced Subculture palette – they even used the hashtag #WEVEGOTITRIGHT when posting it all over their social media. It’s no secret that the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture palette turned out to be one big, disappointing mess. It was super pigmented but crumbly and difficult to blend. W7 have released this little gem and let me tell you, they definitely HAVE got it right.
The cardboard palette box holds 14 beautiful and unique shades. Each one is named and there is a mirror inside the lid. It’s a nice compact size, perfect for travel. There are three shimmer shades and 11 mattes. There is a double ended brush inside (also a dupe from the original palette) which is actually pretty decent – it has a fluffy end and a smudger end.
W7 are known for being extremely affordable, so I wasn’t expecting amazing results from the swatches but I was presently surprised. The shimmers feel so creamy and are so high impact. The mattes are absolutely beautiful and also very pigmented.
As you can imagine, I was keen to get this on my eyes as soon as possible. I used the palette today and contemplated what shades I should use for about ten minutes! My contemplation made me realise how truly versatile this palette is – warm toned looks, looks with yellow tones, a bronze eye look and greens and golds! It’s brilliant! I played it safe today and went warm toned (no surprise there) and used the dark purple called Maraschino Cherry on the outer corners. I used the pale shimmer called Sugar Rim on the inner part of my eye and was blown away by how pretty this colour is. The colours Moscato and Body Shot made beautiful transition and crease shades.
The palette was super easy to use – very little product is needed and the colours blend beautifully. The mattes are long wearing, although I did find that Sugar Rim started to fade and wear off by the end of the day.
You can purchase this incredible palette for yourself by clicking here. Also keep any eye on eBay for it as they’re even cheaper on there!
I don’t own Modern Renaissance myself, but do have the W7 Delicious (another close dupe) and was able to use this to compare the shades. I Heart Makeup have done an extremely good job of replicating the shades and once again provide you with an opportunity to save your precious pennies. Why spend £45 when you can buy a very similar palette for £8.99?
The palette packaging is sturdy and very cute. It has the instantly recognisable dripping chocolate on the lid in a matte gold. Inside is a large mirror and then the 16 shades. There is a mix of matte and shimmer shades, but it is predominantly matte.
I am stupidly excited about this palette – the colours are stunning and the mattes blend out beautifully. I was so impressed when I first swatched the colours as they were very creamy and just so perfectly complimentary to each other. I wanted to use every single one on my eyes at the same time!
I can see this palette becoming a real ‘go to’ palette for me. I love reds and pinks around my blue eyes – I’m like a moth to a flame with them. There is one shade in particular that I’m obsessed with though and that is the muted mauve on the top row – it is so pigmented for such a light colour and blends like a dream. I just love this palette!
As you know, I already own quite a few Makeup Revolution products but I don’t own many of their lip kits. I have the Halloween Unicorn lip kit and the original Retro Luxe Matte kit in Echelon. However, the Echelon kit I own is in the original formula, which quite frankly wasn’t brilliant. Makeup Revolution worked hard to perfect their matte lip kit formula and I’ve heard only good things. I was super excited to see that they had put five gorgeous mattes, two glosses and three metallic shades into one box for Christmas and today I’m excited to share it with you!
The lip kits come in individual boxes inside a black, classy and pretty sturdy box. The kits are spread across two slide out drawers – an expensive looking Christmas present. Inside the top lid are illustrations of lips with the colours on and name of the kits. I really like this finishing touch.
The top drawer contains the matte lip kits and the bottom drawer contains two glosses and three metallics.
Let’s start with the matte kits. To be honest, I would buy this set for these alone. I love me a matte lipstick and five of them is just a bonus! They are mostly nude shades too, which are also my favourite (and a lot of other peoples’ at the moment!). Each kit contains a lip pencil and a liquid lipstick with a doe foot applicator. Each lipstick has a clear tube and matte rose gold lid. Each pencil is black, with a black lid and a little strip of the pencil colour on the bottom. The shade names are also written on the products.
Echelon – My favourite of the bunch! A pink based nude. This shade also won Gold in the 2017 Pure Beauty Awards!
Grandee – Very pink and very pretty. This is the brightest of the mattes
Noble – A close second favourite. This is a lovely brown nude
Duchess – A muted red/orange. Very sophisticated and slightly festive too!
Highness – A darker version of Noble – more brown but still in the nude category
Now for drawer two – glosses and metallics. Once again, all of these kits come with a lip pencil and liquid lipstick. The lids of the liquid lips are a shiny rose gold. So pretty!
Lip Glosses –
Honour – For a lip gloss, I actually love this. It isn’t gloopy and sticky. It is actually very wearable and super pigmented for a gloss. I love the colour too – a true nude brown
Original – This is my least favourite kit of the ten. It is very light and a peach colour. I just don’t think that it suits my skin tone. It would look lovely in the summer on someone with a fresh tan or even on deeper skin tones. I feel it just washes out my complexion. The colour is very pretty though.
Metallic Lip Kits –
Regent – This is the most pigmented and my favourite of the metallics. It’s a very festive red. It’s super unique and pretty. I feel this will be getting a lot of wear over the next couple of months!
Empress – This is a peachy nude metallic with a gold reflect. This looks gorgeous when it catches the light
In Waiting – another pretty pink. It’s the most natural of the metallics
When I swatched the lipsticks I didn’t use the lip pencils, I’ll hold my hands up this was probably not fair on the metallics. I feel the colours would be much more vibrant and stunning with a lip pencil underneath.
I have been testing out the formula of the mattes over the last few days and have to say I’m very impressed. The longevity of the colours is fantastic and lasted through various snacks, drinks and meals. The colours are also gorgeous. It is a lightweight formula and doesn’t have the stickiness that the original formula had.
If you’re debating whether or not to get this for someone for Christmas, or even as a gift for yourself I say get one! For £30 you’re getting £60 worth of products. There’s something in this set for everyone – you really can’t go wrong.

For the last few months I have been gaining experience as a makeup artist by joining my photographer friend on any shoots he invites me along too. When prepping for a shoot, I love going through my makeup and picking out the perfect products for the lovely models. When I saw that Makeup Revolution had put together this gorgeous highlighter palette, I knew straight away that it would be perfect to go into my kit bag.
The style of this palette really reminds me of the pricey Ofra one On the Glow (find it here), but is a fraction of the price at just £15. You receive eight highlighters in this well packaged and good-sized palette and a lot of product for your money.
I love the range of colours – peaches, champagne, lilacs, a mint green and many more! I’m also in love with the multi-highlight pans which have complimentary colours placed together (once again, very much like Ofra’s Beverly Hills).
The highlighters from the Kiss range were released a while ago by Makeup Revolution and I reviewed one back then (Ice Kiss). Since then they have redesigned the packaging and released more shades in the range.
The highlighters themselves pack a real punch and are just the most beautiful colours. As you can see from the swatches, they are very pigmented and very stunning colours. It was hard to pick which one to apply this morning! I went with Champagne Kiss and it is just so lovely!
They are quite glittery, which I really enjoy but I understand not everyone likes that in a highlighter. Makeup Revolution also released Brighter Than My Future, a more bronze based palette, more suitable for medium/dark skin tones. Check this one out too, it’s beautiful!

When I was contacted by Wonderland Makeup last month, I was excited to be introduced to a new and very exciting makeup brand from the UK. I was sent some of their products in return for an honest review and here are my thoughts.
I always struggle to find a primer that actually works – keeps my makeup on all day and gives it a smooth base to work with. I think Wonderland Makeup have provided my primer solution! I always get oily skin on my nose throughout the day and so I find it difficult to find a primer that doesn’t make this worse. This Wonderland primer is lightweight and oil free so won’t make my skin issues worse. It also doesn’t sink into the pores but actually glides over them meaning that my foundation doesn’t sink in either. I absolutely love this stuff! This primer is cruelty free.
This pigment is STUNNING. Absolutely gorgeous as a solo colour all over the lid and could even double up as a highlight. This product is not only versatile but also very long-wearing. It sits beautifully on the lids and delivers just the perfect amount of shimmer and sparkle. It’s gorgeous for this time of year too.
Inside the cute little pot you get 1.5g of pigment. The pot has a sifter which makes distribution and application of the product problem free. This pigment is also cruelty free. There are lots of other colours available in the range, that can be viewed here.
This is my perfect blush shade at the moment – slightly pink, slightly peach and just perfect for the Autumn. It has a slight shimmer finish for that healthy looking glow. It is also a fine powder which makes it easy to work with and super easy to blend out.
As with all Wonderland Makeup products, this blusher is cruelty free. You get 7g of product inside a cute little compact. I love how the Wonderland ‘W’ is embossed on the powder too – a lovely finishing touch!
Now that it’s November, I’m officially allowed to start talking about Christmas – and oh do I have some gorgeous Christmas goodies to share with you this year.
I wanted to start my Christmas posts with these gorgeous flash lashes by Kiss. They are perfect for parties during the festive season and New Year. They’re also extremely affordable and available in Superdrug and online so they’re super convenient too!
These lashes are my favourite of the two pairs I was sent. They’re so fluttery and long, but still natural looking. They have a very thin band which makes them comfortable to wear as they’re not heavy – It actually doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything on your eyes.
The lashes contain ‘multi-angle technology’, which means they’ll look fluttery from every angle and therefore more natural.
The lashes also come with adhesive, which is of good quality and makes application a lot less stressful!

If you want to add a bit more volume to your lashes, but still look natural, then these are the falsies for you. They are a shorter length lash, perfect for every day wear. Each ‘hair’ has a tapered end, which softens their appearance.
Once again, they are easy to apply and feel extremely lightweight on the eyes. The eyelash band is ‘invisible’ meaning it doesn’t look heavy on your eyelids and is easy to work with.
