KIKO Milano Gold Waves Bronzer | Sun Celebration Honey | Review and Swatches

I received a voucher for my birthday for our local shopping centre and rushed into the city today to pick up this beautiful new release from KIKO – the Gold Waves Bronzer. I had seen it featured in a SophDoesNails video where it received rave reviews and I wanted to try it out for myself.

I don’t really own a special bronzer – I ran out of my Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer a while ago so have just been using a matte L’Oreal one. Since we have had such glorious sunshine over the last few days, my need to glow, glitter and sparkle has been overwhelming and matte bronzers just aren’t really an option right now. This offering from KIKO has the right amount of shimmer and gives me a healthy glow. I went for the lightest shade – 01 Sun Celebration Honey.

The bronzer is part of a summer collection released by KIKO called the Golden Waves Collection. Some of the products available include highlighters, eyeshadows, matte lipsticks, waterproof foundations and eyeliners. All perfect for that sunkissed glow whether staying home this summer or going away.

I can’t really review this product without mentioning the beautiful packaging. The cardboard box is gold with a gorgeous blue pattern embossed on the front. The bronzer itself is encased inside a lovely (large) gold compact with a mirror inside the lid. I love the detailing on the outside too.

This is a baked bronzer which smells beautiful! It is enriched with Jojoba oil which makes it very soft and smooth and easy to blend out onto the skin. It is scented with vanilla – but not in an off-putting way, it’s subtle and very summery. The smell just makes me happy. You also receive a lot of product for your money – 20g to be exact!

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Glow | Bronzer and Highlighter

You may have read my review of the Makeup Revolution Night Palette, one of the eyeshadow palettes which belongs to the Renaissance collection. A big part of the appeal with these palettes is their beautiful packaging. They come in a black box with rose gold decorations. Inside the black box, they are packaged in a cute velvet pouch (a little bit of added luxury). The casing itself is so so beautiful – matte black with rose gold edging and I just love the clasp which opens and closes them.

The Renaissance Glow contains a bronzer and a highlight. The palette was re-released last week, claiming to be ‘New and Improved’. I never tried the original myself, but I’m happy with the reformulation of this one.

The bronzer is matte and very light. To be honest, I haven’t been using it as a bronzer but actually as a contour. It is the perfect contour shade for pale skin as it has grey, shadowy undertones.

The highlighter is the main reason you should buy this palette! It is gold and gives a ‘wet look’ on the high points of the face. A little goes a long way with this one, I really like it. I’m off to a very special party in October and I will be packing this in my overnight bag.

Physicians Formula | Butter Bronzer | Review and SwatchesΒ

Physicians Formula has been doing the rounds a lot recently on social media and YouTube, especially this Butter Bronzer. Physicians Formula isn’t available in the UK, so I had to order this through iHerb – an amazing site which sells many makeup brands, including those not available here. I have heard only good things about this product – it blends well, looks glowy and smells amazing. I just couldn’t wait to give it a go for myself!

First up, let’s start with the packaging. The bronzer came in a foil effect box, with tropical foliage printed on it. The colours are stand out and fit so well with the theme of the product.

Inside you get 11g of bronzer, another compartment which lifts to reveal a mirror, and a cute applicator sponge. To be honest, I won’t use the applicator, as I prefer using a brush, but it’s definitely handy to have inside for travel.

As well as looking aesthetically pleasing, the bronzer also provides many benefits for the skin. It contains Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter from the Amazon in Brazil – which I believe gives it its beautiful scent (correct me if I’m wrong!). It also contains ultra-refined pearls and soft-focus pigments that are said to smooth your skin’s texture and brighten your skin tone.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Swatch

I have been using the bronzer for the last couple of days now and I have to say that I already adore it. It leaves such a beautiful finish and really does make my skin look airbrushed. It blends very well and is so creamy to apply. It’s quickly becoming my favourite part of my makeup routine! The scent is absolutely beautiful – it just smells like ‘holiday’ to me – sun cream, coconuts and many things tropical.

I could bang on about this product all day and all the benefits it as for your skin. I’ll tell you just a few more facts anyway, as I really can’t help myself!

  • It also contains fatty acids and pro-vitamins to nourish your skin.
  • It can be worn over makeup or alone on the skin – imagine that glow!
  • It combines the benefits of both cream and powders bronzers, meaning application is effortless
  • It’s Cruelty Free
  • It’s simply amazing!
