Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – June 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

So what’s in the box?

This month doesn’t really have a “theme” per se, however it does seem to be more focused on the idea of “summer  laid-back” vibes that come with the season. Less is more in Summer, I mean who wants to put on foundation, concealer and powder when its 30 degrees out? So there’s a big focus on nailing down a great skin care regime which as we all know is the base to feeling your best in the summer. We have a great box this month with 6 products to try out, including two full-sized.

So let’s have a look shall we?

The Hero Project Instant Moisture Boost

This is a fabulous gel moisturizer for all my oily gals out there who are a little shy on the traditional moisturiser creams. The Hero Project is a British beauty brand which focuses its attention on those must have skin care products you can’t go without, which delivers both an amazing moisturiser and is packed with skin loving ingredients such as hylauronic acid and B5. This is best to add to the skin before your normal moisturiser to bring it back to life, which is especially good in the summer months where air conditioning and the warmer weather can dry out your skin.  The Hero Project is also cruelty free, and its packaging is all recyclable – woohoo!

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo.

Hhmmm.. Ok, I love highlight, y’all know that. Highlighter for me is my ultimate beauty must have and nothing makes me feel better than highlighting my cheekbones like a glazed donut. This however, isn’t glowy enough for me. It’s best mixed into your foundation for a dewy finish or to use as “glue” to keep your highlight popping, however on its own, not a fan. Its far too liquid for me and just disappears when your apply to the skin, so its more of an addition to my highlight routine than an actual highlight or glow in itself.  It does get bonus points for being cruelty free and comes in one universal shade for all skin types.

Batiste Stylist Frizz no more Frizz Tamer.

So I got my hair cut last week and have been regretting it ever since – nothing to do with the hairdresser, she was the bomb, I just forgot how much more maintenance your hair needs when its cut short, and my hair is super fine and there is a lot of it, so it frizzes up like nobody’s business. This hair spray was a welcome treat for me, as it helps to keep the frizz at bay and helps keep my style resistant to humidity and it’s enriched with keratin which is always a good thing for my hair type! Batiste prides itself on being a crueltyfree personal brand that cares about the well-being of both humans and animals. Batiste Stylist is not suitable for Vegans as it uses Keratin, which is derived from sheep’s wool. No! Batiste doesn’t support testing on animals.

111Skin Space Defense Bright Eye lift Gel

This is one of the best eye products I have ever used. I have HUGE dark circles under my eyes regardless of the sleep I get, to the point I have considered getting fillers under my eyes. I have this in a full size from a christmas gift and I love it, it changed my life. It reduces puffiness, dark circles, reduces the appearance of lines (which at 30 I am starting to think about) and keeps your eye area super hydrated. Plus this skin care range evolved from products used in space, and I am all about that.

Sleek Makeup Power Plump Lip Crayon

Ugh this lip colour is so darn perfect. It’s a gorgeous coral colour and glides on smoothly, is super pigmented and has super staying power. It wasnt until I put it on and my lips started to tingle I realised it was a lip plumping crayon – I thought I was having some sort of allergic reaction! But I love the effect of these lip plumping products – I have a slimmer top lip so its nice to balance it out a bit! Sleek are a brand I adore, and are cruelty free which I love. #crueltyfreekisses.

Beautypro Black Diamond peel off mask.

I have been wanting to try one of these peel off charcoal masks forever! This was the first product in this month’s box that I tried, and it was…..ok. I mean, don’t get me wrong as soon as I put it on, you could feel the active charcoal working and it was super satisfying peeling it off, but it didn’t seem to pull as much out of my face as I wanted. If anything it pulled off all my peach fuzz (not a bad thing) and my skin on the whole felt super smooth, but I can still see all my blackheads. Maybe that’s how they get you? Really loved it and I love a face mask, but it wasnt quite as good as I wanted. A big thumbs up for being cruelty free though!

So all in all, this month’s box was ok. It wasnt overwhelming, but there’s nothing in here I wouldn’t use. Everything in this box is once again cruelty free which I love, but I would have liked more make up products. However great skin care is the base for great skin confidence so all of these products are welcome in my bathroom.

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website and sign up for 50% off the July Edit. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time, have a great summer!

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – April 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

So what’s in the box?

April is here, the sun is shining, which means we want to maximize our sunshine time to get that Vitamin D on. This month’s box is dedicated to the woman on the go who just has zero time to waste and wants to get out there (or if you’re like me, hits snooze 3 times most mornings for bonus sleep).

Filled with multi-tasking beauty heroes that every girl-on-the-go should own, it’ll help make your life a little easier this month. From makeup that’s easy to apply in-transit to on-trend hair essentials that’ll instantly cut down your getting ready time. If you’re an active on-the-go gym goer like me, or just someone who likes to cut down the minutes on their beauty regime, this box is great for you.

Also I want to give this box a huge enormous thumbs us as all the products in this box are from cruelty free brands – yay for #beautywithoutbunnies

With this in mind, let’s have a lil look shall we?

Modelco Contour Stick

Model Co is a well established brand in my make up collection and I own a few of their nail polishes too. They have really cute packaging and a huge product range which is all cruelty free – yay! I’m not crazy for contouring and definitely don’t do it at 6.30am when I’m getting ready for work, however this stick is easy to apply, easy to blend and looks very natural.  The formula is so creamy and lightweight and smells delish, a really coconutty scent which I love – I’m all about that coconut oil life. I don’t know if this product was a one shade fits all job, as it did look very orange on me to start with, however once I blended it out and used a little (and I mean A LITTLE) bronzer it looked good. Still not a huge fan of contouring. Maybe I just need practice? Maybe not at 6.30am though.

Merci Handy Hand sanitizer

Not sure how hand sanitizer fit as a beauty product, however this was definitely a welcome product to me as I needed a new one. I got a cherry scented bottle, and it does not smell of cherry. It doesn’t really smell of anything, which is good, because I hate that chemically smell from most hand sanitizers, but my nose was all set for cherry. The best thing about this product is it doesn’t dry out your hands into nothingness like most other gels do, owing to their high alcohol content. This one is enriched with vitamin E and leaves your hands clean and feeling soft. I just wish the scent was there! A great handbag staple, and the most adorable website with the best instructions for hand sanitizer ever:

1) Squeeze out a small amount of gel,

2) Pretend you’ve just won the lottery,

3) Rub your hands together with glee for 30 seconds.

Rodial Glamolash Mascara

This is the 5th mascara I’ve had from Glossybox and it’s probably the most underwhelming one I’ve had. It is packed with promise to give you fuller and longer lashes, however it took at least 4 coats of mascara to get any sort of length and zero volume. A nice mascara for an every day look which is what this box is about, it just oversells itself and then under performs. It is packed with natural ingredients to help condition and protect your lashes and to stop the product clumping both on your lashes and in the bottle, and don’t get me wrong, it’s a great every day product, I just wasn’t wowed as much as some of the other ones I’ve had from GB.

SportsFX Doubletime Face Brush

I do love a good make up brush and GB always do well in their brush offerings from brands and this is another hit for me. A versatile double ended brush for both liquid foundations and powders, it has beautiful soft fibers which boast antibacterial properties, which pick up and distribute the product well without clinging onto loads on the brush, and it doesn’t leave your liquid foundation all streaky. I also love the brand which has curated make up products and brushes to go alongside its active-wear – a 360 brand for the woman who loves to sweat. Check out the website and see for yourself!

Elgon Deliwash Clensing Conditioner

Now, readers on my blog will know I’m a Redken obsessive so it’s always hard for me to try out new hair products without judging them. This beautifully scented cleansing conditioner is right up my street. A great product to use post gym between regular washes, I’m a big fan of cleansing conditioners. They add moisture and softness back into your hair without the need for shampoo, and because it is sulfate, paraben and salt free your hair is left smooth and clean and soft. It’s a great alternative to regular washing if you’re an active gal like me, because all that shampooing can take away the natural oils in your hair which just makes it more dry and frizzy. I really like this product and will definitely use it when I go to the gym or for a long run, but nothing will ever tear me away from my Redken Extreme.

I am really happy with this month’s box. Everything was great and will get used – even the mascara 😉 I think GB really did themselves proud this month and I can’t wait to get the first of the summer boxes next month – yay for sunshine!

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website and sign up for 20% off and a free Nip and Fab moisturizer in your first box.  There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time, have a great Easter weekend,

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – March 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

 What’s in the Box?

With spring fast approaching (get ready to move your clocks forward an hour on March 26th), this month’s box has been designed to get you ready for the upcoming seasonal change. I am so ready for spring!

From the most soothing of skincare designed to prep your complexion to one of four Sleek palettes that’s sure to perfect your finished look, you’re in for a treat when it comes to the March box. So let’s jump in!

IMAG0593 (1)

Just look how beautiful this all is! Lets take a closer look at this months edit.

oOlution Eye Love Under eye De-puffer

I love a decent under eye depuffer, as a long time sufferer of dark circles, regardless of how much sleep I try to get they are always there, staring me in the face. This nifty little tube is  packed to the brim with detoxifying and de-puffing ingredients which help reduce dark circles and bags. By stimulating collagen synthesis, it also helps reduce wrinkles that start forming around the eyes. With its moisturising and lifting actions it prevents the transformation of lines due to dehydration into more profound wrinkles. Add to the fact is is a beautifully light consistency, its instant cooling qualities leave you feeling less dragged-though-a-hedge-backwards and more spring chicken. Plus, it’s a cruelty free brand, so that makes it even better IMHO.

Sleek Makeup Eye & Cheek Palette in Dawn ‘Til Dusk

IMAG0594 (1)IMAG0595 (1)

I’ve been a huge fan of Sleek cosmetics for a long time, so this was a massive bonus for me. Plus, what make up addict doesn’t love another palette!? This month Glossies were given the option to pre-select one of four palettes. I went for this one because being fair skinned, the colours best suited my complexion. With four eye shadows and two blushes, Dancing Till Dusk includes velvety browns and shimmering fawns from the best selling Au Naturel i-Divine palette. With radiant Blush shades Mirrored Pink, an iridescent soft pink and Sahara, a matte, dark coral, for a sophisticated finish. A Huge hit for me which I have been wearing all week!

P.S – Sleek are a cruelty free brand who do not test their products of ingredients on animals. Woo-hoo!

This Works in transit camera close-up Primer

IMAG0597 (1)

So wait, a primer, a mask, and a moisturiser all in one?

Wait what?

I’m not convinced that this is a mask if I’m honest, but as a primer/moisturiser combo, this really does work. It keeps my make up on all day, doesn’t dry out my skin or enhance my oily areas, and if its good enough for Mrs Beckham, then its good enough for me. It also smells dreeeeamy, which helps when its 7.30am and you’re trying to get ready for the day ahead.

As their website says:

“This high-performance Superblend features Bio Boost – a unique blend of anti-oxidant plant oils- to rebuild and protect the skin barrier, along with hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and Caffeine to re-balance and revitalise.”

Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Therapy

IMAG0596 (1)

This was the only disappointment for me this month. I’ve already had one in a box previously and although it smells dreamy and you do get a generous amount in the tube, I can’t use C&E because it reacts badly to my skin! I contacted Glossybox and explained this, and they are sending me a replacement product – I’ll update this post when I’ve received this.

On the plus, like I said, this is a gorgeous smelling spring time inspired hand cream, it’s lightweight, and absorbs into the skin quickly meaning you don’t have slippery hands for ages after!

Skinfix Inc. Foaming Oil Cleanser

IMAG0599 (2)

Next to the Sleek palette, this is my favourite product this month. I absolutely love how well this product removed every single scrap of make up on my face, it didn’t dry it out and left it feeling clean, smooth and just gorgeous! Infused with Jojoba oil, Red Seaweed extract and Healthy Skin Lipid Complex™, this product leaves your skin feeling beautiful and clean and ready for your moisturising routine. Plus a little really does go a long way with this, you only need a pea sized amount and it foams into more than enough. Plus they are another cruelty free company, so a huge thumbs up.

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great Mother’s day gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website and sign up for 20% off and a free Nip and Fab moisturiser in your first box.  There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time,

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing December 2016

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing blog here.

What’s in the Box?

So this month, subscribers had a choice between either a Sugar or Spice box – I went with Spice. We got extra special treats this month based around which look we wanted to achieve most this festive season, with either a nude or a plum lipstick from MDM Flow. We got 5 beauty treats, 4 which were full-sized. So without further ado, let’s take a peek!

Kapow! Look at all that gorgeousness! Let’s dive in!

Revlon Nail Enamel

Everyone loves a good nail polish, and this month’s bang on trend plum red enamel named Valentine did not disappoint! My favorite nail polishes in order are Sally Hansen, Revlon, and Barry M. The Revlon colours deliver gorgeous smooth, chip-resistant colour to nails. With ShadeLock™ Technology for fade-resistant wear. Mine lasted on my nails without a top coat for 9 days without chipping, which is pretty impressive, considering it went through 3 runs, 4 gym sessions, 2 swimming sessions, and all the usual wear and tear doing a 9-5 office job. A big hit, and a colour I will definitely use again, and again, and again, and well you get the picture.

Collection Cosmetics Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder

Now, I have a confession to make, I have terrible eyebrows. Yes, I put my hands up and admit it. I neglected them in high school, I plucked them to oblivion, and I’ve been paying for it ever since. Why oh why didn’t I listen to my mum and just leave them alone?! Thankfully, we now have loads of options for filling in and defining our brows these days, however badly we have treated them in the past. I am a huge fan of the fuller brow, so products like these, are great if you are on a budget (and got talked into spending £40 on face cream in Boots and have zero money left). The loose powder formula containing fibre particles to add volume to the brows. I especially love the fine-tipped sponge applicator for a precise application. An absolute must have for those of us who need to put a little ka-pow back into our brows!

1. Using the applicator, brush delicately over areas which need filling in and volumising
2. Use fine brush strokes to create natural-looking hairs on the brows
3. Set the brows in place with a clear brow gel of your choice!

essence light up your face luminizer palette

Ugh. I love me a good highlighter. You know what it ever better than a gorgeous matte highlighter? A trio of matte and shimmer highlighters in my glossybox!

This pallette comes with three highlight shades to help you achieve a flawless sun-kissed glow in the cold December months. You can apply them individually, or in combination on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose or below the lips, these three highlighter powders with light-reflecting pigments accentuate the features with a light pearl, shimmer or golden glow finish.Even better, Essence are a cruelty free brand, and easy on the purse strings! I did try to swatch these, but the camera does the end result no justice. Less glowing like a glazed donut (which is a look I also love, highlighter is my thing), more a subtle healthy glow.

Lipcote Lipstick Sealer

Before there was 1,000 shades of matte liquid lipsticks, Lipcote was the number one lip insurance. I have kept it in my (one of far too many) make up bags, because it’s a tried, trusted and favorite secret weapons, and unlike may liquid lipsticks, it doesn’t dry out your pout. The essential lipstick accessory; transparent, quick drying Lipcote is specially formulated with natural extracts to stop your lipstick feathering, fading or transferring. I tried it out with my favorite red lipsticks one day and I only needed to top up once at around 3pm, and it lasted through a lunch time run! In comparison, I find that although my Lime Crime Velvetines matte lips need to be touched up a couple of times through the day. It’s so easy to use – apply your lipstick, blot and then apply. The tingling is totally normal. (note, the tingling only lasts about 10 seconds, if you find it lasts any longer, or your lips start to swell or go numb, seek medical advice) I absolutely would recommend Lipcote throughout the year, not just for party season. Weddings, girl’s nights out, evening dos, and those days when you want to rock a bad ass lippie but you don’t want to worry about it fading. Lipcote is for life, not just December!

MDMflow Lipstick

And here we are, the main event of the box this month. Meet my new beautiful MDMFlow lipstick, in the shade Vamp. I love this lipstick. Its matte, which is my favorite finish, it has a creamy butter-like consistency, and has some impressive staying power, with or without lipcote. The only negative I had is that I needed 2 coats of the stuff to get my desired shade of vampy plumyness. But all in all, it compliments my snow-white complexion, it stays on for hours. top marks. The packaging is gorgeous, it’s cruelty free kisses, and contains the best natural ingredients for your lips.

So that’s it from me for another box and another year with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great Christmas gift, why not give the gift of glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself ?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website and sign up. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time, have a great Christmas and Happy 2017!

Mum’s Christmas Makeup Look

When my Mum asked me to have a go at her makeup, I felt so excited! She’s the perfect person to practice the skills I’ve been studying on my Makeup Artistry course. I had to bear a few things in mind whilst I made my plan –

  • This is a Christmas party look, so it had to have a bit of classy sparkle somewhere!
  • Mum has green eyes, so I checked the colour wheel to see which colours complimented this and went for purples and burgundies.
  • Mum is a bit older than me, so really won’t appreciate unicorn highlighter and false eyelashes!
  • I asked Mum to bring her own foundation so that it was a perfect match for her skin tone and type.

After going through the plan with Mum, we decided not to use the Grav3yard Girl Swamp Queen Palette shade ‘Mancat’ as I previously planned, and opted for NYX Single Shadow in ‘Addiction’ instead as it had a bit more shimmer to it and a dramatic look.

Here is Mum’s before photo –

We began by cleansing, toning, moisturising and finally priming the skin.

MoisturiserBio Extracts Light Face Cream mixed with the Glow Booster

Primer – Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm

Next was foundation, Max Factor Colour Adapt in 70 Natural (Mum’s own) –

My favourite part now! I used the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer on Mum’s eyes and got to work on the eyeshadow look I’d planned for her.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette –

  1. Peaches n’ Cream all over the lid and brow bone
  2. Georgia over the lid
  3. Bellini in the centre of the lid
  4. Luscious in inner corner
  5. Peach Pit along lower lash line

NYX Hot Singles Shadow in Shade ‘Addiction’ in outer half of lid. I concealed under the eyes with the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer.

Next up, brows! I was particularly pleased with this as I think they changed Mum’s face completely! I used the Collection Eyebrow Define in Blonde.

I used the Collection Precision Contouring Stick just under Mum’s cheekbones. I didn’t want to go overboard on this because I think Mum has a lovely bone structure, without me having to cut it even more with contour. I also used Makeup Revolution’s Golden Sugar Blush Palette on the apples of the cheeks in the third shade along the top row. To add a subtle highlight, I applied the Maybelline Master Strobing Stick in shade 001 Light.

The combination is gorgeous, don’t you think?

Now onto the lips, I wanted a subtle purple colour to make Mum’s eyes pop even more. We went for the Lancome Juicy Shaker in Berry in Love (smells delicious too!).

To complete the look, Mum applied her own mascara. Mum absolutely loves the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara, she says she doesn’t get panda eyes with it and it stays on all day. Definitely one I want to have a go with!

Here is the completed look! Ta Dah!

Doesn’t she look beautiful? I’m so pleased with how everything came out and Mum was happy too! Mum’s eyes definitely look greener and larger and she’s definietly ready to party at Christmas!

If you would like to feature on the blog, then get in touch! I’m always happy to have a go at your makeup, or send you advice so you can have a go yourself. Email here if you’re interested or for more info.

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing November 2016

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing blog here.

What’s in the Box?

I don’t know about you, but prepping for a party can quite often be one of the best parts of the night! Whether that means taking the time to apply face mask so that our skin is on point, or adding a little more drama to our makeup look, with falsies, liner, the full works! This month’s box was packed with beautiful goodies for the ultimate pre-party pamper session.

So, this month is all about pre-party pampering, and I think it all looks pretty good! I’ve been trying out these products for the last week, so without further ado, let’s jump in!

111SKIN Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask

Urgh my gaaahd I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these masks. Sheet masks are awesome. I like to treat my skin to a face mask once  a week, and will splash out on a sheet mask once a month or so. Now that winter is here, moisture is so important for your skin. The combination of the cold weather, air conditioning, central heating can really batter your skin, so make sure you invest in a good moisturizer for the colder months and treat your skin to a moisturizing treatment once a week – even if like me you have oily skin, my favorite treatments in the winter are the Bare Minerals Serum with my Boots Botanics Moisturizer. This mask is packed with skin loving ingredients to boost your skins luminosity. The gold revitalizes dull complexion and restores your skin with a boost of radiance. Well known to reduce inflammation, helping to improve the appearance of blemishes that can blight the party season, the Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask also diminishes the visibility of age spots and sun damage. This mask is so indulgent. My skin has looked and felt amazing all week – is it worth the RRP of £20? Absolutely, as a treat for your skin! I especially love that the products were born from the science behind a serum designed specifically for astronauts travelling to space who are exposed to extreme radiation and no gravity, causing rapid skin ageing.

Wilkinson Sword Quattro for Women Raspberry Rain Disposable Razors

Picture the scene. It’s the Christmas Party, you have a new dress, you want to show off your pins. Like me, you’re a wimp and can’t face waxing, you don’t have the bank balance to afford laser hair removal, and your skin is ridiculously sensitive to hair removal creams. These razors are great. They smell delicious, they work a treat and they don’t cut my legs to pieces. No nicks, no fuss, just perfectly polished pins to go with that new dress! There isn’t much else to say about these, they work a treat and I’m pretty chuffed I got them, because they’re pretty expensive at £8.79 a pack! Thank you Glossybox.

KISS Looks So Natural Lashes

I’m not a huge fan of falsies, mainly because I am pretty useless at putting them on. I tried these guys out on Saturday. They didn’t go on easily, because the band is really flimsy and there wasn’t much surface area for glue. It took a few attempts, but once they were on they looked beautiful! I guess it’s just practice. They look really natural (the clue is in the name I guess) and stayed on all day and night, so they get major kudos for durability. I’m going to persevere with them and try them again on Saturday night at a friend’s birthday party. Again, for the cost they are definitely worth the price, but if you are a beginner like me I would try to find some with a thicker band as I find those easier to work with.

Top tip with lashes – remember to trim them from the outer edge if they are too big for your peepers, and let the glue go tacky before you apply them, otherwise you end up with glue all over the place. True story. I recommend watching this video on how to apply falsies like a boss.

RUBY Professional Large Tapered Blending Brush

Aaaah who doesn’t love another eyeshadow brush? I don’t think there is such a thing as too many eyeshadow brushes, except for on brush cleaning day, however this one is just perfect. Why you ask? Well, for one, its made from 100% vegan cruelty free bristles, which are firm but flexible. It is beautifully tapered for a sharp crease and beautiful blending, and it picks up just the right amount of product. You can use this brush to blend out your shadow, contouring the socket of your eye for a really intense smokey eye effect, and the shape of the brush is also perfect for contouring the smaller parts of your face, such as your nose, and for highlighting your brow bone and cupids bow. A perfect all-rounder!

DE BRUYERE Beauté Eye Pencil

I love eye pencils. For the same reason I love eyeshadow brushes, eye pencils like these ones are so versatile, you can use them for a really sharply defined crease, you can smoke them out for a really beautiful eyeshadow colour, or use them as a base for some shimmery pigment to stick to (I would recommend using the urban decay eyeshadow primer for this if you want all night bullet proof durability). It goes on like butter, and is gorgeous on the skin! I teamed this up with a classic black winged liner and a red lip, and I’ve got to say, it looked pretty good. De Bruyère Paris is a french beauty brand with unique target to make girls happy, pretty and easily, everywhere, anytime. all their products are travel sizes, smelling irresistible and adorably packaged and so Parisian ! All their products are made in France and italy,  and are naturally cruelty free paraben free. Extra bonus points from me, because I love cruelty free brands.#cruetlyfreekisses.

So that’s it from me for another box! I’m already really excited for next month’s box, because last December was a winner for me. If you have any recommendations for a fablous beauty box, please let us know in the comments – what did you get in your Glossybox, and what are your must have pre party pamper products?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website and sign up. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time

Guest Post ~ Glossybox Unboxing – October 2016

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received.

Glossybox – what is that all about?

I’ve always loved makeup and beauty products. That is no secret. I also love trying new brands and products, but having a mild addiction to the beauty counters at department stores means my bank account often takes a hammering, and it can be hard to find products that I am happy to part with the best part of £40 for. I have been subscribed to Glossybox for over a year now and absolutely love it! Every month I receive a little gift from me in the mail with 5 luxe beauty products, three of which are full sized, mostly from brands I’ve never heard of or have seen before, for only £10 (plus £3.95 for postage). You try out your products and them submit a review for each one on their website and collect Glossydots, which, once you have enough, you can use to purchase products from the store (which are usually 5-10% discounted) or use them to pay for a months box – if you do all the surveys this usually adds up to around one box a year free.

So whats in this month’s box?

This month’s box was inspired by Beauty and Lifestyle blogger Estee Lalondee, who has teamed up with glossybox to bring us her favorite new and old products. We also got a mystery sixth product, but Ill tell you more about that later.

Here it is! Isn’t it gorgeous. I love the boxes, and I often save the limited edition ones because they are too beautiful to throw away.all my Christmas presents to family and friends end up in glossyboxes, and pinterest has provided many up-cycling projects to re-use them.

So lets jump into the products:

PS…PRO Mattifying Primer – RRP £5

I love primer. A decent matte primer is one of the hardest things to find these days, and I rarely stray from my Soap and Glory or my Tarte primers, because I’ve tried many a “drug store” product and ended up with red blotchy skin, or its just not done anything and I still shine like a diamond (in the wrong sense of the word) and my make up does not stay on my face. oh the many woes of being an oily skinned gal! I tried out this primer on a day at work under my usual foundation and make up routine, and I was pleasantly surprised. It held my foundation on all day for the most part, I still looked a little oily on my forehead and nose but that is just part of life. It has a really butter like consistency and I didn’t break out or have red skin at the end of the day.

When I looked at where this was from I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Primark. and Its £5! The best part is that it  which means it it and its ingredients are not tested on animals.

Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait – RRP £12.95

Usually if a product has cute packaging I’m pretty much sold on it, and this lippie is no exception. It goes on like butter and the color is gorgeous, a really beautiful flush of pink. This gorgeous lippie is infused with vitamin E to keep your lips soft and moisturized and the color payoff is to die for. I am a sucker for a nude lip so this will definitely get used! I had a sneaky peak on their website and I wont spoil it for you, because you have to go look at these products yourself but I’m sorry bank card, you may well get used on here. Another cruelty free brand too, which means your kisses will be cruelty free ❤

Nuxe Shimmering Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse OR – RRP £34

I’ve never ever used a product like this before. Sure I’ve used hair oil, but this oil claims to be for, hair, face and body.. I love a multi tasking product. This beautiful shimmery oil is a blend of plant oils and vitamin E which add moisture and softens your skin, with a beautiful golden glow which doesn’t look like a glitter explosion, so don’t panic of you intend to use this on your face! I used it after the gym one evening and my skin felt soft and gorgeous, a perfect after workout treat. I used it in my hair too and it gave it a beautiful glow and on my arms, which would be perfect to show off a holiday tan – I cant wait to use this when we go on holiday. The fragrance isn’t overpowering, a beautiful light summertime scent to take you back to the beach…

Universal Beauty Cosmetics Secret Flush – RRP £15

Another awesome multi tasking product, this is a cream blusher and lip stain duo which has ah-ma-zing color payoff! This has gone straight into my make up bag in my handbag for the days I go for a run on my lunch break, as sometimes I have been described as looking a little peaky after lunch – not cute. I used it on my lips as a cute pink lip stain and added it to my cheeks for a pop of color. This product is sold out on their website so I was very lucky to get a full sized one in my box. Universal Beauty Cosmetics is another cruelty free, ethical cosmetics company with a real emphasis on empowering its customer to embrace their beauty and what makes them unique – beauty with purpose is my favorite thing.

Bee Good Honey and Camellia Facial Exfoliator – £10.50

After face masks I thinks exfoliator is my absolute favorite part of my skincare regime. Because I have oily, sensitive, spot prone skin, like to exfoliate and mask three times a week, and finding an exfoliator that is gentle on my sensitive skin, gets rid of oil, and adds moisture is not an easy feat for anyone to find. This exfoliator covers most of this though. It made my skin feel incredibly soft and moisturized, but it didn’t feel gritty enough for me, but maybe that’s just because my usual exfoliator is pretty gritty. It does smell amazing and my skin did feel gorgeous afterwards. Its packed with all the best natural ingredients, such as lavender, wheatgerm oil and propolis. Its another cruelty free product, and made with all British ingredients.

And for the secret product….

I have no idea what brand this is.This month all Glossies were sent a mystery hair care product to test out. This product has recently undergone a make over in the packaging and the formula and us lucky Glossies are the testers!

I think, from the smell it’s Head and Shoulders. Because I have a sensitive scalp and my hair is colored I don’t think I’ll be using this, the last time I used a drug store shampoo it made my scalp flake like it was snowing, so I’ll stick with my usual shampoo though. If you want to find out who it is head over to for the big brand reveal on the 18th October.

If you want to try out glossybox for yourself, head over to the website and sign up. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time
