Obsession, as mentioned before, are a sister brand of Revolution. I absolutely love their products and actually believe they are totally underrated. They’re advertising campaigns aren’t in your face and I think they get missed because of this. I highly rate everything I’ve bought from them – I’ve never had a dud product!
These palettes were launched last week – once again with little to no promo, that I could see, beforehand.
I purchased two of the four palettes which were released – Warm Up and You Got This. The other palettes consist of a cool toned eyeshadow palette (so not my thing!) and a very neutral nude eyeshadow palette. The two I bought were the most exciting of the four.
Obsession You Got This Face Palette
This palette contains setting powders, contour shades, blushers and highlighters. The perfect palette for travelling. The highlighters are super pigmented and just stunning. I was blown away by the pigment of the whole thing to be honest. Its incredible!
Obsession Warm Up Eyeshadow Palette
The eyeshadows in this eye palette have my name written all over them. They’re warm, red toned and just stunning. Once again, the pigment packs a punch. The shimmers are beautiful and could be used for the most elegant of eye looks.
As you can probably tell, I’m really blown away by these palettes. For £5, you’re getting more than your money’s worth. You must see for yourself!
As mentioned in my Obsessive Eyes Eyeshadow Palette review, Obsession have released some beautiful new products recently and so far I’m very impressed. Straight up – this highlighter palette is no exception. Stunning being the word for it.
The palette is a decent size and is a metal tin (which I love). It has a marble design, which matches the eyeshadow and contour palettes. Inside the tin is a huuuuge mirror and eight beautiful highlighters.
I love the fact that this palette caters for all skin tones – from the very light to very deep. If you think some of the shades are unwearable as a highlight, remember you can use them as eyeshadows too.
The highlighters themselves are baked and are very soft to the touch. They are a finely milled powder which gives them that ‘wet-look’ on the skin. They don’t show up any skin texture either which is what you want from a highlighter.
The question I’ve been asking myself for the last few days is – is this my new favourite highlight palette? It does produce everything I want from a highlighter and the shades themselves are just stunning – peachy/golds, whites, bronzes, and pure gold – pure perfection! This palette is definitely up there with my BH Cosmetics Spotlight Glow.
Here’s a quick post on the latest highlighting offering from I Heart Makeup – the Bleeding Heart Highlighter.
This little beauty was released as a Anti-Valentine’s tribute and I like the fun illustration on the lid. The baked highlighter comes in a cardboard, heart shaped box with a lid. I have a couple of these highlighters now and I absolutely love this packaging. It looks really cute on display!
The highlighter itself is a beautiful, warm pink with ‘veins’ of gold shimmer running through it. It is a very soft powder when swatched and blends out perfectly. It has a lovely shimmer to it.
I tried this as a highlighter, but to be honest it was a bit too pink for me (can you believe that?!). I’m excited to use it as a blush though as I think it will look very pretty. I do love a shimmery blush!
You may have read my pretty moody review of one of Maybelline’s latest releases – the Master Holographic Prismatic Highlighter (and if not, click here) and there I mentioned I’d also picked up the Master Chrome in a Superdrug deal. Thankfully, this review won’t be anywhere near as angry because this time round, I’m pretty pleased with my purchase.
This gorgeous little highlighter was doing the rounds on many a US YouTuber’s channel but took a lifetime to appear in the UK. When it finally arrived in Superdrug, I was excited to see if it would live up to my expectations and its amazing reviews from overseas. As you know, I hated the Master Holographic which arrived in the same package, so the need to enjoy this highlighter was pretty high!
I adore the pattern pressed into the powder itself – geometric lines are just so aesthetically pleasing! The colour, on first glance, looked pretty intimidating for my fair/medium skin and I was worried it would make my cheeks look bruised on application but it actually sits pretty well. It’s a very flattering gold which I feel works well on most skin tones (but maybe not the super pale).
The powder itself is finely milled and not full of microglitter (like its ugly sister) and blends out beautifully. It is a very bold highlighter – not one for those of you who love a subtle glow! It builds well and sits still on the skin all day.
Phew – well that’s a relief! My faith has been restored in Maybelline – what a gorgeous little offering this highlighter is! I believe there is a pinky toned one coming/already here – but I am yet to find it. I’ll definitely let you know my thoughts when I am able to get one.

Here’s my second review of an Exposed Cosmetics product and this one is a beauty! As you saw from my previous post, I am absolutely in love with the Exposed Cosmetics English Rose Eyeshadow palette, read that here. So I was expecting good things form this highlight kit too!
As with the eyeshadow palette, this kit comes in simple cardboard packaging which has a little window in it so you can see the shades inside. It’s a cute little size, making it great for on the go. On the back of the box is an image of a woman showing you where to apply highlighter to your face. Now let’s get to the swatches!
Eeek, aren’t they all just so beautiful? The colours are – Pale Champagne, Iridescent Rose and Glistening Bronze. The shades have a gorgeous sheen to them and are super shimmery – minus the glitter. They have that much coveted ‘wet look’ on the skin. My most wearable shade, for my skin tone, is definitely Pale Champagne but the amazing thing about this palette is that you can mix the shades together to create your own custom highlight. They’re just stunning! They would make beautiful eyeshadows too.
This Bold Definition Highlight Kit is just £4.99 and available to purchase here.
For the last few months I have been gaining experience as a makeup artist by joining my photographer friend on any shoots he invites me along too. When prepping for a shoot, I love going through my makeup and picking out the perfect products for the lovely models. When I saw that Makeup Revolution had put together this gorgeous highlighter palette, I knew straight away that it would be perfect to go into my kit bag.
The style of this palette really reminds me of the pricey Ofra one On the Glow (find it here), but is a fraction of the price at just £15. You receive eight highlighters in this well packaged and good-sized palette and a lot of product for your money.
I love the range of colours – peaches, champagne, lilacs, a mint green and many more! I’m also in love with the multi-highlight pans which have complimentary colours placed together (once again, very much like Ofra’s Beverly Hills).
The highlighters from the Kiss range were released a while ago by Makeup Revolution and I reviewed one back then (Ice Kiss). Since then they have redesigned the packaging and released more shades in the range.
The highlighters themselves pack a real punch and are just the most beautiful colours. As you can see from the swatches, they are very pigmented and very stunning colours. It was hard to pick which one to apply this morning! I went with Champagne Kiss and it is just so lovely!
They are quite glittery, which I really enjoy but I understand not everyone likes that in a highlighter. Makeup Revolution also released Brighter Than My Future, a more bronze based palette, more suitable for medium/dark skin tones. Check this one out too, it’s beautiful!

When I saw MUA had released a new loose powder highlighter as part of their new Prism range, I just had to give it a try. I don’t actually own any of these types of highlighter, so have been very intrigued to see what the excitement is all about. Firstly, I was surprised by the size of the pot it came in – it’s a decent size! There is 18g of powder inside too, which is a lot as it is very finely milled. I love the lid of the pot too – so sleek and classy in black plastic with holographic font on the top. It looks beautiful when it catches the light. Under the lid is a little sifter, perfect for controlling the amount of powder that comes out.
On first glance the powder looks white, but when you look closely it reflects pink in the light. A little goes a long way with this product. I poured the tiniest amount of it onto my hand for the swatch below and it seemed to blend out forever!
Yesterday morning I got the urge to create a pretty Halloween makeup look and this highlighter was perfect for the occasion. I attempted mermaid makeup and used the highlighter over pretty much all of my face. I applied it to the high points of my face as per, but then added a bit less product around these areas. I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this highlighter, especially considering its very low price tag of £5.

Unicorns have been all the rage for a while but now there’s a new fad on the block – mermaids! I have to admit, I’ve been totally sucked in by it all – it’s all so pretty and shiny! I love the mermaid colour schemes and the sparkling, iridescent products and items. I was very excited to see that I Heart Makeup were releasing two new fantastical highlighters (after their very successful Unicorn’s Heart highlighter) – a mermaid one and a dragon one (a review of that is coming soon).
Mermaid’s Heart comes encased in the cutest cardboard box. It is an ocean blue colour with foil effect font. It is very eye catching! Now for the actual highlighter – It consists of five mermaid themed shades, which individually are beautiful in their own right. You have two colours which could represent the sea, a gold for the sand, orange for mermaid hair and pink for her shell bikini. Well that’s my interpretation anyway!
This product is extremely versatile – you could always use the shades individually as a unique highlight or you could use them as eyeshadows. Just think of the looks you could create! I have been swirling the colours together and using the result as a highlighter on the high points of my face.
When I first saw the highlighter, I didn’t actually think the colours would combine well and work out to be a flattering highlight – however I was very wrong. This product is like magic – when you mix the colours together, they actually end up combining into a beautiful cool toned, icy white colour. I love the overall effect and have been wearing it a lot.
Once again, as I have said with all the I Heart Makeup products I have reviewed, this highlighter is super pigmented, easy to blend and a dream to apply. This is a special product and definitely something I’d recommend getting your hands on – there’s nothing else like it.
I reviewed a Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighter a few months ago now and it was one of my most read posts. These highlighters were a very popular release for Makeup Revolution, so I really wasn’t surprised when I saw they had released four more shades last week. I was very fortunate to be sent this particular shade and I couldn’t wait to give it a go.
Lunar is an ultra intense lilac toned highlighter. It is absolutely stunning and one of my favourite tones for a highlighter. I love the uniqueness that a lilac one gives on the skin. I was pretty blown away by the swatch I did (below) and was even more amazed when I applied it to my face. I literally tapped my brush in the pan and began to apply it and the glow was insane! I actually had to blend it out a bit with my foundation brush because, believe it or not, I actually felt I had too much on! I know, shock horror!
The highlighter stayed on my skin all day and even managed to cling on during a very sweaty run this evening. It looks very pretty on the high points on my face. I spent a lot of the day moving my head in odd positions in front of a mirror just to make the highlighter ‘flash’ back at me!

I Heart Makeup are a sister brand of Makeup Revolution who seem to be playing the role of quirky little sister. They’re products are always fun and unique and definitely appeal to people like me! This Peach and Glow Palette is another something special item from their chocolate range (read about the Chocolate Rose Gold palette here) and I’m just in love with the cute packaging.
The palette is a lovely and practical size. It is encased in a peach outer with 3D chocolate bar patterns on the lid. Inside the palette is two pans – one highlighter shade and one shimmery blush shade. There is also a decent mirror – something I’d never say no to having.
The product itself is very shimmery and has some beautiful tones. It has an ombre effect in the powder itself which I really like the look of. I also like that you can either swirl the colours together or pick and choose what you’d like to use that day.
When the blush colours are blended together they create my ideal Blush shade – peachy/pink with a shimmery undertone. It makes me look healthy and glowy which is what I want from a blush. The highlighter is also gorgeous – I’m a bit hooked on it actually! It is very intense and a little goes a long way, but it gives that ‘wet look’ that I’m into at the moment.
