Here’s my second review of an Exposed Cosmetics product and this one is a beauty! As you saw from my previous post, I am absolutely in love with the Exposed Cosmetics English Rose Eyeshadow palette, read that here. So I was expecting good things form this highlight kit too!
As with the eyeshadow palette, this kit comes in simple cardboard packaging which has a little window in it so you can see the shades inside. It’s a cute little size, making it great for on the go. On the back of the box is an image of a woman showing you where to apply highlighter to your face. Now let’s get to the swatches!
Eeek, aren’t they all just so beautiful? The colours are – Pale Champagne, Iridescent Rose and Glistening Bronze. The shades have a gorgeous sheen to them and are super shimmery – minus the glitter. They have that much coveted ‘wet look’ on the skin. My most wearable shade, for my skin tone, is definitely Pale Champagne but the amazing thing about this palette is that you can mix the shades together to create your own custom highlight. They’re just stunning! They would make beautiful eyeshadows too.
This Bold Definition Highlight Kit is just £4.99 and available to purchase here.
For the last few months I have been gaining experience as a makeup artist by joining my photographer friend on any shoots he invites me along too. When prepping for a shoot, I love going through my makeup and picking out the perfect products for the lovely models. When I saw that Makeup Revolution had put together this gorgeous highlighter palette, I knew straight away that it would be perfect to go into my kit bag.
The style of this palette really reminds me of the pricey Ofra one On the Glow (find it here), but is a fraction of the price at just £15. You receive eight highlighters in this well packaged and good-sized palette and a lot of product for your money.
I love the range of colours – peaches, champagne, lilacs, a mint green and many more! I’m also in love with the multi-highlight pans which have complimentary colours placed together (once again, very much like Ofra’s Beverly Hills).
The highlighters from the Kiss range were released a while ago by Makeup Revolution and I reviewed one back then (Ice Kiss). Since then they have redesigned the packaging and released more shades in the range.
The highlighters themselves pack a real punch and are just the most beautiful colours. As you can see from the swatches, they are very pigmented and very stunning colours. It was hard to pick which one to apply this morning! I went with Champagne Kiss and it is just so lovely!
They are quite glittery, which I really enjoy but I understand not everyone likes that in a highlighter. Makeup Revolution also released Brighter Than My Future, a more bronze based palette, more suitable for medium/dark skin tones. Check this one out too, it’s beautiful!

When I saw MUA had released a new loose powder highlighter as part of their new Prism range, I just had to give it a try. I don’t actually own any of these types of highlighter, so have been very intrigued to see what the excitement is all about. Firstly, I was surprised by the size of the pot it came in – it’s a decent size! There is 18g of powder inside too, which is a lot as it is very finely milled. I love the lid of the pot too – so sleek and classy in black plastic with holographic font on the top. It looks beautiful when it catches the light. Under the lid is a little sifter, perfect for controlling the amount of powder that comes out.
On first glance the powder looks white, but when you look closely it reflects pink in the light. A little goes a long way with this product. I poured the tiniest amount of it onto my hand for the swatch below and it seemed to blend out forever!
Yesterday morning I got the urge to create a pretty Halloween makeup look and this highlighter was perfect for the occasion. I attempted mermaid makeup and used the highlighter over pretty much all of my face. I applied it to the high points of my face as per, but then added a bit less product around these areas. I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this highlighter, especially considering its very low price tag of £5.

Unicorns have been all the rage for a while but now there’s a new fad on the block – mermaids! I have to admit, I’ve been totally sucked in by it all – it’s all so pretty and shiny! I love the mermaid colour schemes and the sparkling, iridescent products and items. I was very excited to see that I Heart Makeup were releasing two new fantastical highlighters (after their very successful Unicorn’s Heart highlighter) – a mermaid one and a dragon one (a review of that is coming soon).
Mermaid’s Heart comes encased in the cutest cardboard box. It is an ocean blue colour with foil effect font. It is very eye catching! Now for the actual highlighter – It consists of five mermaid themed shades, which individually are beautiful in their own right. You have two colours which could represent the sea, a gold for the sand, orange for mermaid hair and pink for her shell bikini. Well that’s my interpretation anyway!
This product is extremely versatile – you could always use the shades individually as a unique highlight or you could use them as eyeshadows. Just think of the looks you could create! I have been swirling the colours together and using the result as a highlighter on the high points of my face.
When I first saw the highlighter, I didn’t actually think the colours would combine well and work out to be a flattering highlight – however I was very wrong. This product is like magic – when you mix the colours together, they actually end up combining into a beautiful cool toned, icy white colour. I love the overall effect and have been wearing it a lot.
Once again, as I have said with all the I Heart Makeup products I have reviewed, this highlighter is super pigmented, easy to blend and a dream to apply. This is a special product and definitely something I’d recommend getting your hands on – there’s nothing else like it.
I reviewed a Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighter a few months ago now and it was one of my most read posts. These highlighters were a very popular release for Makeup Revolution, so I really wasn’t surprised when I saw they had released four more shades last week. I was very fortunate to be sent this particular shade and I couldn’t wait to give it a go.
Lunar is an ultra intense lilac toned highlighter. It is absolutely stunning and one of my favourite tones for a highlighter. I love the uniqueness that a lilac one gives on the skin. I was pretty blown away by the swatch I did (below) and was even more amazed when I applied it to my face. I literally tapped my brush in the pan and began to apply it and the glow was insane! I actually had to blend it out a bit with my foundation brush because, believe it or not, I actually felt I had too much on! I know, shock horror!
The highlighter stayed on my skin all day and even managed to cling on during a very sweaty run this evening. It looks very pretty on the high points on my face. I spent a lot of the day moving my head in odd positions in front of a mirror just to make the highlighter ‘flash’ back at me!

I Heart Makeup are a sister brand of Makeup Revolution who seem to be playing the role of quirky little sister. They’re products are always fun and unique and definitely appeal to people like me! This Peach and Glow Palette is another something special item from their chocolate range (read about the Chocolate Rose Gold palette here) and I’m just in love with the cute packaging.
The palette is a lovely and practical size. It is encased in a peach outer with 3D chocolate bar patterns on the lid. Inside the palette is two pans – one highlighter shade and one shimmery blush shade. There is also a decent mirror – something I’d never say no to having.
The product itself is very shimmery and has some beautiful tones. It has an ombre effect in the powder itself which I really like the look of. I also like that you can either swirl the colours together or pick and choose what you’d like to use that day.
When the blush colours are blended together they create my ideal Blush shade – peachy/pink with a shimmery undertone. It makes me look healthy and glowy which is what I want from a blush. The highlighter is also gorgeous – I’m a bit hooked on it actually! It is very intense and a little goes a long way, but it gives that ‘wet look’ that I’m into at the moment.
Last week SophDoesNails released her beautiful eyeshadow and highlighter palettes as part of her collaboration with Makeup Revolution. This morning I received the highlighter palette and let me tell you – this palette packs real glow power! I reviewed the eyeshadow palette last week and you can read that here.
This palette contains eight highlighting powders. Soph created this palette with pale skin tones in mind as she has very pale skin herself. Some of the powders are baked and some are just pressed powders.
Swatching these was easy! The powders are so pigmented, it took literally a tiny swirl in the pan and one swipe with my finger for them to show on the skin. They all felt very soft and all look absolutely beautiful. I especially love the second gold along, which I’m wearing today.
The highlighter has excellent staying power and has stayed on all day. I went for an eye test today so my head has been in various machines and I have been trying on lots of pairs of glasses – the glow has stayed put! I’m in love and I don’t think there’s a shade I won’t be able to use. Even the darkest two colours would make stunning eyeshadows or would look beautiful as a body highlight.

Makeup Revolution are just slaying it at the moment! In the last year that I’ve been blogging they have brought out more and more unique, versatile and extremely exciting products than any other brand I know. They are almost definitely my favourite makeup brand above all others at the moment – they’re cruelty free, very affordable and they cater for all skin types and tones. I love them!
When I saw this highlighting palette last Wednesday (the day of its release), I ordered myself one and one for my bestie. The colours were just too exciting to pass up.
The palette itself came in the most gorgeous packaging – an amazing holographic box! It is sturdy and you get a lot of product in each pan. The texture of some of the powders are a bit chalky, but I found that only to be the case when I was swatching them with my finger. When the product is applied with a brush, it is a lot smoother on the skin.
Overall, I am obsessed with this palette. I absolutely love every single shade. I think only one wouldn’t work on my skin tone as a highlighter and that is the peachy bronze tone – but this would make an awesome eyeshadow instead.
I think the palette would be more suited to lighter skin tones – but for a bold look, it would look stunning on a deeper skin tone, especially that lilac shade (think Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Matchstix in ‘Unicorn’).

If you haven’t heard of Technic before, then here’s the low-down. They are an extremely affordable makeup brand, bringing you innovative and cute products which are quick and easy to use. I have been following the company on Instagram for a while now and was excited to see the launch of this Prism range, which includes highlighting powders, lip toppers and cream eyeshadows. You can purchase their products trough various online retailers and I went with Amazon for mine. They also offer free delivery – woohoo!
I had to purchase this product as an ‘add on’ item on Amazon. I will say first off that this is not an eyeshadow cream as advertised. It doesn’t have a creamy texture of any kind, but that’s not to say I don’t like it. I actually find the finish of this product very pretty and also surprisingly long-wearing for its low price tag. I have actually been using this as an eyeshadow topper to make matte eyeshadows pop, or even on eyeshadow-free eyelids for a pretty hint of shimmer. The product contains pink, silver and purple micro glitters which, when they catch the light, look really pretty. This is a convenient product in that it is quick and easy to apply and instantly adds something special to your makeup look. For the price, this is a good addition to your makeup bag. Get yours here.
This cute quad of highlighting powders is pretty and unique. The four shades offer versatility for most skin tones and for less than three pounds for four highlighting powders, you really can’t go wrong. These eyeshadows are buildable and don’t pack a punch straight away, but I like to have the option to build colour as there’s less chance of me going wrong. The compact itself is very travel friendly and also has a handy little mirror inside the lid. I also love how the shades are named – and what cool names they are too! These highlighters contain different coloured micro glitters – this isn’t everyone’s thing I know, but I think they would look brilliant at a night party as the glitters look beautiful when they catch the light. I also think they look nice on the shoulders and body in the sunshine (if you have any!). I love these and I really can’t get over the value for money. Get yours here.
If you’ve been reading my blog for long enough, you’ll know that I love to review a good rainbow highlighter. I’m a real sucker when it comes to these and like to think that I own most of those which have been released now. This one is surprisingly good. Once again, it does contain a hell of a lot of micro glitter but I feel this adds an extra dimension to the rainbow effect. This is also very pigmented and each individual colour is very pretty. The main reason I love this rainbow highlighter is because when the colours are all swirled together, it makes a gorgeous colour, predominantly lilac. Most rainbow highlighters when swirled together, tend to show the green or blue shade more, which is not the look I want to achieve from my highlighter. I prefer pink and purple tones. Get yours here.
With high end brands releasing their own highlighter drops with a high end price tag, it’s great to see Makeup Revolution producing these little beauties for us money conscious gals. Let me tell you, these are just as beautiful, blinding and long wearing as the Iconic London and Cover FX drops claim to be.
Of the four Liquid Highlighters I bought, Liquid Champagne is definitely my favourite. The shade is perfect for my skin tone and it has that ‘wet’ look about it that I’ve been searching for from a highlighter. The champagne colour itself is just stunning and so perfect for special occasions. I also can’t wait to put this all over my face, shoulders and collarbone at Christmas!
Like Liquid Starlight, Liquid Champagne is a dream to blend and very little product is needed for a beautiful glow. Once again, like Liquid Starlight and Unicorn Elixir, the highlighter’s staying power is second to none. I’ve never used such long-lasting highlighters before and they stay as gorgeous as when you first put them on all day.
