SZYGZY Comet Crush Chameleon Glow Eyeshadow Palette

I was very kindly sent this beautiful palette by SZYGZY to review for you guys and I’m more than happy to do so. This gorgeous ‘chameleon’ eyeshadow palette is available on Amazon and when I opened the package it arrived in, I gasped at how pretty the packaging was! The outer cardboard case is purple with a holographic shift that kept me entertained for a good ten minutes. The lid of the palette itself has one of those images on it that changes when you tilt it (not sure what they’re called, but they’re so cool!).

Inside the sturdy cardboard case are six large pans of eyeshadow – all unique and pretty colours. When I posted photos of the palette to my Instagram, it got a lot of love mostly because it just looks different to so many palettes out there.

On first glance, the eyeshadows look like your regular shimmer shades. However, upon swatching you’ll notice that the eyeshadows are actually duochrome and incredibly pretty! I was impressed with each one and also amazed at how very little product was needed to get good pay off. Although the shades are all unique in their own way, they still manage to compliment each other.

I decided to play around with the colours some more and see what other uses you can get out of them. Firstly, they can be used as very ‘out there’ highlighters – if you’re feeling brave! The other pretty and more practical way of using them is to pat them over a black eyeshadow or eyeliner. I loved how doing this completely changed the look and feel of the eyeshadows and just made them stand out even more! You could even try them over other colours of eyeshadow and see what happens!

Barry M Meteor Storm Eyeshadow Palette | Review and Swatches

I swatched this palette months ago in store and instantly fell in love. I didn’t buy it at the time because it was sold out and has been ever since. I couldn’t buy it on Superdrug online either. This week in Boots however, I was pleasantly surprised to see some on the shelves! I also had enough points to buy the palette which is £9.99. Who doesn’t love a freebie?

The Barry M Meteor Storm palette contains eight metallic and duochrome shades – all stunningly unique and like nothing I already own. The more I get to know this palette the more amazed I am with the quality and its beauty.

The packaging is a simple cardboard box with a magnetic closing and a mirror inside. It is extremely lightweight and portable.

I swatched each shade lightly on the back of my hand.

The colours swatched beautifully and the pigment was impressive. I said an ‘Ooo’ with each one, it was like I was watching a fireworks display! The duochrome shades are especially eye catching as they’re so unique. They look amazing on the eyes too and stayed put all day.

The only downfall to the palette (for some people), is that there is no matte shade to use as a transition shade. This didn’t bother me in particular because I have so many palettes each with a decent enough shade for this purpose. To be honest, it’s nice to have a palette completely dedicated to metallic and duochromes – who wants a boring matte chucked in there too in place of a more unique colour?

Overall I absolutely love this palette and I’m so glad I managed to get myself one. I’ll be sharing my looks over on Instagram, so keep your eyes peeled. I would say that these eyeshadows work best and are way more intense when you apply them with your finger or a wet brush.
